DR ARIJIT DAS
(Chemical Educationist & Inorganic Chemist)
ABOUT:
Dr. Arijit Das is basically a Chemical Educationist and specifically an Inorganic Chemist. At present, Dr. Das is holding the post of HOD & Associate Professor (Inorganic Chemistry), Department of Chemistry, Bir Bikram Memorial College (BBMC), Agartala, West Tripura. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree from Tripura University in 1998, 2001 and 2008 respectively. He done Post-Doctoral Research at “Synthetic Inorganic Laboratory” under the valuable guidance of Prof. M.K.Singh, Dean of Science, Tripura University (April 2008 – Dec 2010).
He joined as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Govt.Degree College, Dharmanagar, North Tripura on Jan -2011. During his Ph.D. he got ‘PMLPM’ research fellowship of T.U. for two yrs (2002-2004).
Apart from teaching assignments in the Govt. Degree College, he is also the Principal Investigator of two (02) SERB-DST Major Research project, Govt. of India, New Delhi during the year (2013-2015) & (2022-2025) respectively.
Dr. Das received an Invitation from the prestigious ‘American Chemical Society’ (ESTD-135 yrs ago) along with their nomination letter bearing Fellow nominated no FN-12047213025 and Candidate Promo Code – 1513JA601 to join the ACS network and Joined as ACS Member on 06-12-2013.
Dr. Das innovated 21 time economic teaching methodologies, 06 laboratory UG experiments on paper chromatography and invented 40 formulae in the field of Organic, Inorganic and Laboratory Chemical Education within the period (2013-2024).
‘American Chemical Society (ACS)’ conferred recognition to Dr. Das’s 38 formulae through his virtual presentation entitled ‘Formulae Based Time Economic Mnemonics in Chemical Education’ in the ACS conference ‘ACS Spring 2023’ on March 26, 2023. The virtual presentation of Dr. Das in the ACS Spring 2023 indexed in the ACS scimeetings (Link: https://doi.org/10.1021/scimeetings.3c00021) .
Earlier Dr. Das achieved recognitions on his innovations and inventions from the copyright Office, Govt. of India, New Delhi (2018 & 2019); Indian Chemical Society (2015); Federation of African Societies of Chemistry (2018); ERIC, Institute of Education Sciences (IES), U.S. Department of Education (2013-2021); The International Society of Educational Research, US (2018); Lady Stephenson Library, UK (2019); City College of New York, NY (2017 & 2018) etc.

Dr. Das achieved five (05) copyrights (Ownership) for his innovational research work in the field of Chemical Education on his 35 invented formulae and 20 innovative teaching methodologies from the copyright office, Department Of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India, New Delhi on Aug 2018, Sept 2019, Nov 2023, Dec 2023 and June 2024 respectively.
