Arijit Das was born in Kacharghat, Kailashahar, Unakoti Tripura on 14 March, 1978. His father (Lt. Anil Ranjan Das), who was also a teacher of chemistry motivated him to study chemistry from his childhood. After completing his graduation in chemistry in 1998 from Ramkrishna Mahavidyalaya, he pursued his masters in inorganic chemistry in 2001 and Ph.D in 2008 from Tripura University.

At present, he is holding the post of Assistant Professor (Sr.Gr.), Department of Chemistry, Bir Bikram Memorial College (BBMC), Agartala, West Tripura, India (Link: http://www.bbmc.nic.in/chemistry). Dr.Das is basically an innovator in the Chemical Education (Link: http://www.arijitchemistryworld.com/index.html) and author of the book ‘Innovative Mnemonics in chemical education-A Handbook for Classroom Lectures’ published September 2019 by the Cambridge Scholars Publishing, Lady Stephenson Library, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 2PA, UK (Link: https://www.cambridgescholars.com/product/978-1-5275-3922-8) indexed in the British Library, London, UK. Dr. Das innovated 21 teaching methodologies and invented 40 formulae in the field of Organic and Inorganic Chemistry through using mnemonics which have been recognized in Asia, Europe, Africa and North America (2011-2021). Dr. Arijit Das is basically a Chemical Educationist and specifically Inorganic Chemist. At present, he is holding the post of Assistant Professor (Sr.Gr.), Department of Chemistry, Bir Bikram Memorial College (BBMC), Agartala, West Tripura. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree from Tripura University in 2001 and 2008 respectively. Apart from teaching assignments he had also SERB-DST sponsored research Laboratory namely ‘Synthetic Inorganic Research Laboratory’ (ESTD-Dec-2013) at Ramthakur College, Agartala, Tripura (2013-2019). He is working in the research field of ‘Innovation in Chemical Education’ and ‘Synthetic Inorganic Chemistry’ (Mixed ligand complexes, X-Ray Crystallography, DFT study, TGA, Luminescent, Antibacterial, and antifungal activity studies etc.). Dr. Das is a nominated member of the ‘American Chemical Society’, US since Dec 2013; Fellow of the ‘Indian Chemical Society’; Fellow of the IASR, US; Life member of the ‘Indian Science Congress’; and ‘Indian Academy of Forensic Science’. Dr. Das innovated 19-time economic teaching methodologies and invented 39 formulae in the field of Organic and Inorganic Chemical Education within the period (2011-2020). Dr. Das published 52 research articles and 03 books.
